Job career

  1. During my studies I worked several times (altogether 21 months) as a working student at Siemens-Munich (Germany). I was appointed to di erent departments of the company, mostly in departments where telephone systems were developed.
  2. After my studies and before beginning the Ph.D.thesis, I was employed half a year for Siemens-Munich (Germany). My task was to investigate routing systems for non-hierarchical telephone networks, to implement a simulation program for the best algorithm I had found and to test these algorithms with regard to effciency and practicality.
  3. From June 1992 to May 1994, I was assistant at the Research Institute of Software technology (RIST), University of Salzburg (Austria).
    • First, from June 1992 to September 1996, I was paid by Siemens-Wien and my task was to implement a certain learning paradigm of Neural Networks (Radial-Basis-Function-Neural-Network) in C++ and to investigate the possibilities and usefulness of this paradigm. The program was a part of the Neural Network tool ECANSE which was developed by Siemens-Wien.
    • From June 1994 to January 1996 I was working for the PACT-Project (Programming Environments, Algorithms, Applications, Compilers and Tools for Parallel Computation) at the RIST. The goal of the project was to investigate the parallelisation of algorithms. During this time I investigated numbertheoretical methods for computer tomography, its implementation in parallel architecture (on a α-cluster by using PVM and C++) and its testing.
    • From January 1996 to September 1996, I investigated probabilistic algorithms for solving partial differential equations. I provided an algorithm simulating the local time for a stochastic integral using It^o excursions and showed the convergence, respective the convergence rate in theory and computer experiments. In this time I was backed by a project at the RIST. This assistance was finished successfully in September 1996.
  4. From November 1996 to September 1999 I had a part time job in the administration of the Institute of Psychology, University of Salzburg (Austria). Due to the birth of my son in July 1997 I stayed at home until April 1999 taking care of my son. I returned at work in April 1999 until my contract ended in September 1999.
  5. In the term 1999/2000, I gave lectures in C and C++ at the 'BerufsförderungsInstitut' (BFI) in Salzburg, Austria.
  6. As from October 2000 to August 2004 I had a fellowship of the Austrian Academy of Science for three years. The topic of the project is the numerical simulation of stochastic partial differential equations. During the fellowship I stayed at home ten months taking care of my daughter, which was born in April 2002.
  7. From November 2004 to the beginning of 2008 I had a fellowship of the FWF (Austrian Science Foundation) for three years. The topic of the project was the numerical approximation of SPDEs with main emphasis on nonlinear SPDEs coming from uid dynamics, like the 2D-stochastic Navier Stokes.
  8. Since April 2008 until end of July I was holder of a fellowship of the FWF (Austrian Science Foundation) again for three years. The topic of the project is Ergodic Properties of Stochastic Partial Differential Equations Driven by Lévy Noise.
  9. Since August 2010 I am Full Professor in Leoben at the Montanuniversity.
